We just finished our first duty today in the Operating Room at St. Paul's Hospital. The first day of duty is supposed to be the orientation day, we we're introduced to the different people and venues in the hospital. It was not that big of an event. We were all anticipating that after our clinical instructor have toured us in the hospital we could all go home but what happened is that by the time that we visited the operating room we were asked to change in our scrub suits. Noooooo.

First thing that came to my mind is that I'm going to do gloving and surgical handwashing. Psh. Good thing that we were just toured inside the OR. Introduced to some of the equipments and we started to familiarize ourselves with the machines and different areas of the OR.

There is only one case today in St. Paul's Operating Room.

Written on the white board.

8am *name of patient* cauterization *name of surgeon* *name of anesthesiologist*

I thought that we will be able to handle that first case or at least observe the surgery. But after an hour or two of waiting for the time of operation. It is said that the patient requested that there should be no student who will assist on the surgery or even watch. My RLE group and I were very disappointed.

"Nag-iisang case na nga lang sa araw na to' ipagkakait niyo pa."

BENIGN lang.Paupo upo. Nagkwentuhan. Nanlait ng mga nilalang. GANON.

Anyways. Hopefully by next week's duty we will have more than one case that we can actually handle, So that our group will easily complete our minor and major cases in the Operating Room.
